- ➤ Walla Walla County, Walla Walla, and College Place have funded a warming center at the Housing Authority Gym (501 Cayuse Street) to shelter residents when temperatures drop below 20°F or 25°F with precipitation. HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ Washington State health officials say the H3N2 subclade K flu variant has not been seen locally; however, rising cases in nearby areas mean residents should get a flu shot to stay protected. KONA
- ➤ Rivers Walk Assisted Living Community in Dayton received a rare deficiency‐free survey from state health officials after two years of service with 39 residents. The COO said the facility plans to expand memory care with a new cottage in 2027 to serve more community members. Union-Bulletin
- ➤ The American Red Cross is hosting blood drives in Walla Walla, College Place and Milton-Freewater. Donors can give blood starting today at Milton-Freewater Community Center (1 p.m. to 6 p.m.) with other drives scheduled through Jan. 28 and a Super Bowl ticket prize drawing for appointments made before Jan. 25.
