After a Jan. 12 meeting, the Athena-Weston School Board agreed to propose a nine-year bond at $1.36 per $1,000 of assessed value on Tuesday, May 19 to fund a new CTE building for high school programs.
The board will vote on the recommendation at its February meeting.
Dixie School District is seeking a new bus driver following a resignation, with the four-hour daily position paying between $21.91 and $26.98 per hour as one bus route, serving about 10 students, remains suspended.
The district has borrowed a van from Walla Walla Public Schools until a replacement is found.
Jamie Williams, a foster parent from College Place, attended a rally at the Capitol Campus on Jan.
14 and called on legislators to revise the Keeping Families Together Act by raising the removal standard; state Rep. Travis Couture introduced HB 1092 + advocates say the change may better protect children.
