A new Soroptimist Club will host its first public information session today at Henry Earl Estate Wines (25 E.

Main St.) with County Commissioner Bertha Clayton speaking, as the club builds ties in Walla Walla. Additional sessions are scheduled at the Public Library next week.

On Monday, Jan. 19, locals celebrated MLK Day with a Legacy Walk from Whitman College to Gesa Power House Theatre and a keynote speech by student Anthony Covert on evolving restrictions in incarceration (with input from WSP inmates); participants volunteered to pack 500 food bags at a local food bank.
