ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • This morning, a sanitation truck in downtown caught fire when its garbage load ignited, and the driver quickly dumped it in a nearby parking lot - no one was injured.  KONA

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Walla Walla Public Schools said on Jan. 21 that Brandy Ross and Marit Rasmussen are permanently appointed as principals at Edison and Sharpstein elementary schools after serving as interim leaders during the first half of the 2025-2026 school year; their appointments take effect immediately.  Union-Bulletin

  • A Walla Walla city sanitation truck caught fire Thursday morning when its driver emptied the burning garbage onto a parking lot along Poplar Street (between First and Colville), with crews extinguishing the blaze by 10 a.m. and advising residents on proper hazardous item disposal.  Union-Bulletin
