- ➤ At a City Council meeting on Feb. 11, Walla Walla’s proposed Sweet Onion bike route advanced to the next round in the state’s Scenic Bikeways nomination. The 38-mile loop—covering downtown, agritourism spots and historic sites—will be presented to the state in March. Union-Bulletin

- ➤ Kadlec Regional Medical Center now offers the Watchman, a quarter-sized mesh device that prevents blood from pooling in the heart and may reduce the need for blood thinners in atrial fibrillation patients.
