- ➤ Volunteers Love Serving Veterans has a new president as founder Dixie Ferguson assumed the role on Feb. 10 — after Carolyne Meagher stepped down on Dec. 31. The nonprofit’s 2026 calendar includes National Vietnam War Veterans Day on Mar. 28 and MusicFest from May 28 to 30. Union-Bulletin

- ➤ Local winemaker Billo Naravane of Rasa Vineyards was named Washington’s winemaker of the year for 2025 by the International Wine Report. He earned the honor — one of only 418 masters of wine — through a blend of innovation and respect for tradition. Union-Bulletin

- ➤ Recent donations of $30,000 from the Wildhorse Foundation & $10,000 from the Carnegie Corporation boosted the library campaign to 77% of its renovation goal at 238 E.
