EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ College Place Public Schools need more indoor space so they are building an 11,000 sqft field house behind the baseball field for sports and classroom activities. Superintendent Jim Fry said a grant plus school savings will let the project break ground in the fall and finish within a year—this addition aims to ease space issues and support growing student needs. GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Waitsburg City Council accepted a $150,000 bid from past residents Delbert and Cindy Steinhorst at a special meeting on March 6th, 2025 to purchase the old city hall building at 147 Main Street — including a 1.15-acre lot valued at $25,000 on East 6th Street. The contract sets today as the contingency date — and the closing is scheduled for April 1, 2025 while the Steinhorsts plan to live upstairs and open a vendor space downstairs. Waitsburg Times
