BUSINESS NEWS

  • BIG Recyclers, a glass recycling company, is helping nonprofits handle extra glass after a Seattle plant closed in late 2024 by collecting drop-offs at its Yakima location and has collected 12,000 pounds so far. The company plans to work with local groups and Owens-Illinois to move up to half a million pounds of glass through 2025.  Union-Bulletin

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Walla Walla Public Schools opened registration for the 2025-2026 year on March 19 at the Center for Children and Families—86 students enrolled and a record 160 families attended the kindergarten and early learning roundup. Pam Clayton, the family engagement coordinator, said parents met teachers and received resources to ease their children’s transition to school.  Union-Bulletin
