- ➤ On March 7-9, Walla Walla High School JROTC Blue Devil Battalion earned four first-place awards at the Cascade Mountain League Championships. The cadets hosted the event — handling logistics and running competitions — which highlighted their strong teamwork and leadership. Union-Bulletin
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ On Saturday, the state Senate approved a gas tax hike of 6 cents per gallon starting July 1 and a two-year budget that depends on new taxes for big companies and wealthy residents. The package is expected to bring in about $500 million a year for road and transit work + it passed bonds for highway projects + the House will vote on its version soon. Union-Bulletin
