- ➤ Helpline@SonBridge will host its annual SoupPort (friendraiser) on Wednesday, Apr. 8 at Blanchet Hall at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 412 W. Poplar St. from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.; guests choose a hand-painted bowl to fill with soup prepared by local culinary students and enjoy lunch. Union-Bulletin
ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ Rooks Park was closed until April 15 after a child was injured near the interpretive displays at the Mill Creek Project on Wednesday, April 1 as local officials investigate the incident to prevent further injuries. Union-Bulletin
CULTURE NEWS
- ➤ In Waitsburg, a family celebrated Valentine's Day and a 14th birthday by making special cards using an antique press at Duke & Remington's Pressroom; owner Suze Wood guided the children through the letterpress process on heavy cardstock. Waitsburg Times
ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ Water Day will be a free event on Saturday, Apr. 25 from noon to 7 p.m. at the Water and Environmental Center (Walla Walla Community College campus) where community members can join lab tours, art demos, and talks to learn about the watershed. Union-Bulletin
