A downtown bagel shop (formerly Get Some Bagels) changed its name to The Local Bagel after a Tri-Cities restaurant requested a new identity.

Owner Tom Glase said the rebrand fits his focus on locally sourced ingredients, and the shop is at 70 N. Colville St.

Elizabeth Tackett reopened her Irish dance academy earlier this year at the Walla Walla Summer Theater studio on East Alder Street — offering youth classes at 5 p.m. and teen/adult lessons at 6 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays with plans to expand sessions as demand grows.
