- ➤ A customized baseball cap left behind at Gesa Power House Theatre after a Jan. 14 patriotic concert was turned over to veteran Mike Howell. The board member reached out to local veteran groups (VFW, American Legion, and more) to find its owner. Union-Bulletin
BUSINESS NEWS
- ➤ The Chamber is hosting free networking events to help businesses face legislative challenges. On April 20, a resource event will be held at the Center for Children and Families (registration closes April 12) and on May 12, a State gathering is set at the Port of Walla Walla’s conference center. Union-Bulletin
- ➤ A downtown bagel shop (formerly Get Some Bagels) changed its name to The Local Bagel after a Tri-Cities restaurant requested a new identity. Owner Tom Glase said the rebrand fits his focus on locally sourced ingredients, and the shop is at 70 N. Colville St. Union-Bulletin
CULTURE NEWS
- ➤ Elizabeth Tackett reopened her Irish dance academy earlier this year at the Walla Walla Summer Theater studio on East Alder Street — offering youth classes at 5 p.m. and teen/adult lessons at 6 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays with plans to expand sessions as demand grows. Union-Bulletin
