GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Scott Hudson, vice president of the Dayton Chamber of Commerce and a local real estate broker, declared his candidacy for Port of Columbia District 1 commissioner and will submit his filing during candidate filing week the first week of May. He said the Port should keep ownership of the Columbia Walla Walla Railroad—an asset he believes is key to lowering taxes and strengthening the local economy. Union-Bulletin
- ➤ Walla Walla city published a virtual open house webpage so residents can review several safety projects for South Ninth Avenue from Rose Street to Orchard Street—feedback will help plan which three projects to complete and the page will accept comments until Friday, April 18. Union-Bulletin
