  • James Payne retires after 30 years as executive director of Fort Walla Walla Museum. In his final year starting in April, he begins an orderly transition to new leadership while planning to share his expertise through consultancy and writing.  Union-Bulletin

EDUCATION NEWS

  • The Walla Walla Community College Board voted Thursday, Apr. 9 to close the Clarkston campus in 2028 due to a $4.3 million funding gap from state funding changes and rising costs. Current students will complete their programs through June while layoffs will occur at both campuses.  Union-Bulletin
