Good morning, Walla Walla.
Port officials and local leaders are asking the state Legislature for $25 million a year for three years so they can lock in the local match needed for a $108.5 million federal grant to finish the four-lane expansion on U.S. 12 between Walla Walla and Tri-Cities.
The plan may include donating 200 acres of Port-owned land — a potential match contributor — to secure further federal funds.
