Washington State allows residents to choose not to get a REAL ID but warns that without this compliant ID or a passport they will face travel restrictions on domestic flights and entry into secure federal facilities — the new rule starts May 7.

Advocates say Washington should adopt a new foster care law—like Oregon's SB 1016—that gives foster kids proper bags to keep their things safe.

They point to cases where children had their belongings mishandled and want to prevent this in the future.

Walla Walla County Superior Court is launching a new pretrial services program funded by a grant from the Administrative Office of the Courts to guide release decisions.

The court hired a dedicated officer and will use a risk assessment tool called PSA, text reminders, and an electronic monitoring system with victim notification—while continuing to follow Criminal Rule 3.2.
