Burlington Stores, Inc. will open a new discount store in Walla Walla this spring at 1648 West Poplar Street with a reimagined layout and new branding.

The store will offer clothing, accessories, home decor and pet items and is hiring for new positions.

Kirkman House Museum will host a Mad Hatter themed tea event on May 4 from 1-3 p.m.—tickets cost $35 and advance registration is required.

Guests are encouraged to wear flamboyant hats to honor Lewis Carroll’s classic and may borrow one from the museum’s display.

The legislature passed a law on Sunday that limits annual rent increases to 7% plus inflation or 10%—whichever is lower, while manufactured homes are capped at 5% and first-year tenancies cannot have a rent increase; nonprofits, public housing authorities, and some owner-occupied properties are exempt. Gov. Bob Ferguson has 20 days to act once the bill reaches his desk.
