On May 6, two dogs jumped the fence at the high school farm and attacked lambs—15 were killed and two injured—prompting school officials to capture the dogs and plan stronger security measures while seeking community support to replace the animals used in class.

The Bureau of Land Management reminds campers to check fire restrictions and follow leave no trace practices for safe outdoor adventures during the camping season.

Most campgrounds across Washington will open by mid-May & visitors are advised to plan ahead and share their itinerary with someone at home.
