- ➤ On Thursday, May 7, kids and their parents gathered at Howard-Tietan Park for Kids' Day at the Walla Walla Balloon Stampede. Strong winds prevented rides, but children helped set up balloons and enjoyed a unique view of the festivities. Union-Bulletin
BUSINESS NEWS
- ➤ Natural Grocers will open on May 20 at 102 East Poplar Street in Walla Walla. The grand opening will feature mystery gift cards for the first 150 customers & a prize wheel from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. KONA
- ➤ T-Post Tavern will close on Sunday, May 10, as general manager Erin Needham works to secure a lease to keep the restaurant concept alive at 1415 Plaza Way. Owner Dan Thiessen said the future name and details are still being determined. Union-Bulletin
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Two dogs escaped from a nearby home and attacked the agriculture program at Walla Walla High School on Wednesday, May 6, killing 15 sheep and injuring two, so school officials set up a fundraiser to cover veterinary costs and replace the animals for student projects. Union-Bulletin
