On Thursday, May 7, kids and their parents gathered at Howard-Tietan Park for Kids' Day at the Walla Walla Balloon Stampede.

Strong winds prevented rides, but children helped set up balloons and enjoyed a unique view of the festivities.

Natural Grocers will open on May 20 at 102 East Poplar Street in Walla Walla.

The grand opening will feature mystery gift cards for the first 150 customers & a prize wheel from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m.

T-Post Tavern will close on Sunday, May 10, as general manager Erin Needham works to secure a lease to keep the restaurant concept alive at 1415 Plaza Way.

Owner Dan Thiessen said the future name and details are still being determined.

Two dogs escaped from a nearby home and attacked the agriculture program at Walla Walla High School on Wednesday, May 6, killing 15 sheep and injuring two, so school officials set up a fundraiser to cover veterinary costs and replace the animals for student projects.
