- ➤ Data from Gasbuddy.com shows that gas in Washington State is cheapest on Monday with Tuesday close behind and Friday as a good backup, while Saturday is the priciest day. Drivers planning trips should fill up early in the week to save money. KONA

GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Gov. Bob Ferguson signed a bill on Monday afternoon that changes how hate crimes are defined by including acts done because of a person's perceived traits (House Bill 1052) and it clarifies that bias does not need to be the only motive for a crime; critics worry the change may be too broad while sponsor Rep. Cindy Ryu says the law will improve jury decisions and keep communities safe. KONA
- ➤ Walla Walla City Council will consider revisions to the middle housing code today that let property owners subdivide lots for fee simple ownership and update parking and accessory dwelling unit rules to meet state standards due by 2026—the draft also provides incentives for cottage housing. Bob Ferguson signed a law on Monday that will require drivers with multiple speeding convictions to install an intelligent speed assistance device at their own expense—this law, set to take effect in 2029, was inspired by a fatal crash and imposes strict measures including penalties for tampering.
