Walla Walla will host a free July 4 fireworks display at Walla Walla Community College beginning at 10 p.m. Western Display, a pyrotechnics firm from Canby, will produce the 20-minute show.

Movie Crush, a 10-year short-film festival at Gesa Power House Theatre, is set to run from July 10 to 12.

The event will feature 17 themed one-hour blocks showcasing 85 selected shorts from 2,613 entries and award an audience prize voted by dedicated viewers (Iron Ass Jury).

This year’s 11th PNW Wine Competition had 644 entries from 153 wineries, including 54 from the local valley, held at Walla Walla Community College’s Institute for Enology and Viticulture; judging results will be posted Tuesday, June 30.
