- ➤ Fire crews are battling a brush fire that started early on July 4 near South Fork Walla Walla River Road and has grown to about 40 acres southeast of Milton-Freewater — mutual aid was called from nearby departments. The cause remains unknown as firefighters continue to work the blaze. Apple Valley News Now

- ➤ Several Walla Walla Valley wineries earned medals at the 2025 PNW Wine Competition held at Walla Walla Community College — Arenness Cellars won five double gold awards and newcomer Capital Call Vintners received two double gold and one gold, while 739 wines from 168 wineries were judged over three days. - ➤ The Kids' Place has opened its second location at Walla Walla Community College—611 Water Center Drive, Building K—for 73 children, offering infant care to meet local demand.
