- ➤ Trilogy Recovery Community named Oliver Birchwood-Glover its new executive director after Kate Morrison stepped down in April. He has 30 years of experience in behavioral health — a skill set that will guide the nonprofit’s work with people facing addiction and mental health challenges — and will lead its future plans. - ➤ An 18-year-old man turned himself in after an early morning shooting on July 6—his car was hit by gunfire and bullet holes, and police later charged him with attempted first-degree murder and carrying dangerous weapons. Apple Valley News Now

- ➤ The Port of Walla Walla expanded Dodd Road Industrial Park by buying 147 acres near Railex and Dodd roads, which makes the park 201 acres in total. The purchase—named the CFG Ventures Property and costing over $8.7 million, about $60,000 an acre—is part of the Port’s 2025 budget plan. Union-Bulletin
- ➤ Washington state has added new taxes to help cover a $9.4 billion budget gap, including a top estate tax of 35% on estates over $9 million and a gas tax that increased from 49.4 cents to 55.4 cents per gallon on July 1. Additional fees, such as a $100 charge on marriage licenses and higher business and occupation taxes for certain companies, will take effect later this month and early next year. KONA
