  • Police arrested a 60-year-old local man on July 8th around 4:00 p.m. after a year-long investigation into drone voyeurism at WWU women’s dorms—recovered images from a crash-landed drone led to charges of First Degree Voyeurism.  KONA

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Whitman College announced on July 9 that six CTUIR students were awarded the Šináata Scholarship which covers the entire cost of their education for the 2025-26 school year. The college said the largest-ever cohort—including Addison Carey, Addison Jones-Kosey, Joel Satterwhite, Lauralee Stanger, Oscar Huesties and Tatiwyat Buck—will start classes this fall.  Union-Bulletin
  • Ben Gauyan started his role as superintendent of Walla Walla Public Schools on July 1, bringing 31 years of education experience and a focus on listening to the community.   • Washington does not require a permit for non-motorized paddleboards — if a motor is added, the board must be registered. Paddleboarders must follow safety rules and wear a life jacket while carrying a whistle when they are on the water.  KONA
