The Union-Bulletin’s Reader’s Choice Awards entered the voting stage after receiving over 18,000 nominations and 12,000 votes on Aug.

Amazon Data Services will host an open house on Tuesday, Aug.
11 at Columbia High School (787 Maple St., Burbank) from 4 to 8 p.m. to address local questions about its proposed 134-acre data center campus, which will complete its application with a Traffic Impact Analysis due Aug. 24.

Evacuation notices were increased Friday, Aug.
7 for residents near the Paradise Fire 10 miles southeast of town, with local emergency management urging residents along Biscuit Ridge Road, Black Snake Ridge and Lewis Peak Road to be ready to leave if conditions worsen.
