Today, the Walla Walla City Council reviews a proposed ordinance to expand the ban on prank calls to 911 by also including non-emergency calls and texts—penalties start with a warning and increase to fines or jail time after multiple offenses.
After a water line burst in February led to a sinking area in the 5,352-square-foot building at 315 E.
Cessna Ave.—used by Reali Family Vineyards—the Port of Walla Walla approved a $353,829 improvement project and selected KC Industries Inc. as the contractor, and it submitted a grant application for up to $176,914 to help cover the costs. The Port will use airport contingency funds for the remaining expense if the grant is approved.
