  • Last week the Chamber After Hours Summer Session filled the room as the Walla Walla Public Library was honored for its historic restoration and focus on accessibility—local leaders also outlined upcoming community events from Tuesday, Sept. 9 into October to support our region’s economy and culture.  Union-Bulletin
  • Howard and Trudy Ostby lead contra dancing classes where local residents learn dance steps and enjoy live music — the couple started these sessions in 1985 and now welcomes dancers of all ages.  Union-Bulletin

BUSINESS NEWS

  • Gesa Power House Theatre will host a community connection event with the Chamber on Tuesday, Sept. 9 at 5:30 p.m. at 111 N. Sixth Ave—Chamber membership is not required—and Walla Walla County Commissioners have announced a $50,000 grant for tourism projects in 2026 while students can apply for the VFW essay contests with deadlines on Oct. 31.  Union-Bulletin

EDUCATION NEWS

  • On Tuesday, Walla Walla Public Schools opened the new Blue Devil Stadium after a ribbon-cutting ceremony that completed the last project funded by the community’s capital levy. The facility features upgraded turf, seating, lighting, and safety improvements—meeting NFL standards—while it now serves both students and local residents for various events.  Apple Valley News Now
