- ➤ Walla Walla will honor Adam West on September 20th with special tours at the Kirkman House Museum until 4 p.m. and a display of the iconic Batmobile and Mystery Machine. Families can enjoy costume contests, scavenger hunts, food vendors, and the Bat-Signal lighting up the night sky at 8 p.m.—while donations for Toys for Tots are collected. KONA
- ➤ Waitsburg Historical Society chose the Gagnon family as this year's Pioneers of the Year and will honor them at the Fall Festival on September 21 at the Bruce House Museum—recognizing their deep roots in the local farming community since Marcel Gagnon arrived in 1855. Waitsburg Times
CULTURE NEWS
- ➤ A Picnic Tea and Movie Sunday event at Liberty Theater annex on September 14 will show Downton Abbey: The Grand Finale, the final chapter of the series that follows the Crawley family into the 1930s. Tickets cost $25 and are limited to 60 (entry is on the alley side) while the film will run on a regular schedule later in September. Waitsburg Times
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Prescott School District faces a growing budget gap as unpaid bills increased its deficit by $200,000—officials say the district must seek extra revenue through legislative funding, property sale, or even a levy to avoid dissolving. The school board already cut budgets and canceled spring 2026 sports, and OSPI may soon recommend a dissolution process if a new revenue plan is not found. Union-Bulletin
