Walla Walla will host its first Tour D' Farm event on September 20-21—families and local farmers will gather to explore regional agriculture.

This weekend, local venues host multiple autumn events as Walla Walla Valley welcomes fall—Burwood Brewing and Hop Thief offer Oktoberfest parties with food, live music, and games, Foundry Vineyards celebrates the Concrete Mama podcast with an art show and fundraiser, downtown marks Adam West Day with tours and a Batmobile display, and Hayshaker Farm holds a Fall Equinox Party.

Drivers in Washington are paying the highest gas prices in the nation at $4.66 per gallon as a new carbon tax increase and a major pipeline shutdown drive up costs; in Benton County, gas averages $4.46 per gallon while AAA reports a national average of $3.19.

Experts say prices may drop in coming weeks as demand eases and cheaper winter gasoline is introduced.

Washington State Labor and Industries announced Tuesday (September 16th) that it proposed a 4.9 percent workers comp rate increase for 2026 to offset rising benefit and medical costs; the hike would add about $1.37 weekly for the average worker and public comment sessions will be held in October (28th, 29th, 30th).
