- ➤ Tri-County Partners Habitat for Humanity will host its third annual benefit concert, Keys for Homes, at 6 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 3 at Foundry Vineyards — 1111 Abadie St. — to benefit its affordable housing project in Walla Walla. Union-Bulletin
- ➤ Blue Mountain Evening Rotary Club was chartered on Sept. 17 as the first new Rotary club in 30 years in Walla Walla—its 21 members meet on the first and third Wednesdays at Hop Thief Taphouse to offer service opportunities to families and community members. Founders like Alisha Stewart and Jan Corn built the club with a focus on lower dues and shared leadership to make service more accessible. Union-Bulletin
CULTURE NEWS
- ➤ Daniel Brito turned his childhood love for art into a dream job by airbrushing custom lowrider bicycles with bright designs—he started a bike club in Walla Walla that shows its work at local car shows and competitions. He will compete in an upcoming Moses Lake event as he hopes to win a trophy and work full time in airbrush art. Union-Bulletin
- ➤ Walla Walla Arts Commission opened its call for local artists to submit work for the City Council chamber walls in City Hall for 2026—applications must be submitted online by Nov. 24. A small jury will select pieces for a one-year loan residency to be showcased during art events. Union-Bulletin

- ➤ The American Association of University Women moved its book drop box from Southgate Center Market to a spot by Plaza Safeway—this box collects donated books to fund scholarships for local women returning to school. The annual book sale will run Feb. 20-22 at Marcus Whitman Hotel—6 W. Rose St. Union-Bulletin
HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ At the Washington State Penitentiary, Dungeons & Dragons was introduced this year as a therapy tool to help inmates build social and conflict resolution skills; Secretary Hobbs and prison staff reported that collaborative game sessions eased tensions and will expand in the coming weeks.
