ECONOMY NEWS
- ➤ Walla Walla Regional Airport reported that passengers increased each month in 2025—June reached 7,026 passengers while January recorded 5,652, showing growth compared to 2024. Airport Manager Jennifer Skoglund said higher numbers and load factors near 80% may soon bring new carriers as WWU freshman orientation is set to boost September travel. Union-Bulletin
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Residents can join the open house at the Walla Walla Public Library on Oct. 15 from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. to learn about the 2026 Comprehensive Plan update—pizza and refreshments will be served as city staff collect public feedback on issues like land use and growth. Union-Bulletin
- ➤ Walla Walla County Sheriff Mark Crider is proposing to privatize court security at the courthouse because current staffing is insufficient—staffing includes two full-time and one part-time position while finding replacements has been challenging. The Board of Commissioners will discuss the plan today at 9:30 a.m. in Room 203 at 314 W. Main St. Union-Bulletin
