BUSINESS NEWS
- ➤ Walla Walla's Downtown Farmers Market at 106 W. Main St. reported revenue of $790,900 as of Sept. 30 — nearly $79,000 more than last year — and a 58.6% increase in foot traffic over the last three years, thanks to social media marketing and a matched EBT credits program. The market operates Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. from May through October and can only host a limited number of vendors due to space constraints. Union-Bulletin

- ➤ Local foster parent Jamie Williams and other experts said the Keeping Families Together Act passed in 2021 has raised the bar for proving imminent physical harm and left children in unsafe homes since it took effect in July, with critical incident reports increasing this first quarter—Walla Walla Police Detective Brian Smith noted that CPS delays have worsened the situation.
