Blue Mountain Action Council has started ticket sales for its 15th Barrel Full of Money fundraiser, which will raise necessary funds for food banks and community programs as federal and state support decreases (Danielle Garbe Reser said the goal is to match or exceed last year’s $130,000). VIP packages with wine and dessert and sponsorship opportunities are available to help support BMAC’s services.

Today the American Red Cross is urging local donors to give blood or platelets at nearby drives to help hospitals prepare for the holidays.

Communities can visit donation sites such as Walla Walla, Waitsburg on Nov 13 and Dayton on Nov 6 (donors receive a $20 gift card and free A1C testing in November) while having a chance to win one of three $5,000 prizes.
