Big House Brew Pub is serving free 12-ounce cups of pasta daily from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. — the program supports SNAP recipients amid food insecurity challenges — and owner Jason Hutchinson said donations along with local restaurant contributions have boosted the daily quota to 100 cups.
More than 30 area organizations led by the Blue Mountain Action Council formed a coalition to raise money for local families losing SNAP benefits due to the government shutdown.
Donations will buy food cards at local stores and have reached $115,000 so far—supporting both households and small businesses.
