The Athena-Weston School Board plans to ask voters to keep the current bond rate in a short-term measure on the May ballot after a $15.2 million proposal failed in November.
The board will hold a work session on December 8 and a thought exchange on December 4 to gather community feedback before moving forward with new capital plans — a step aimed at supporting necessary school improvements.

The Walla Walla Public Library renovation now includes a blue perforated screen and design changes to reduce heat gain and protect birds after community feedback—plans were filed on Oct.
17. City officials said the library will move to a temporary space during construction that begins in spring, and 73% of the funding has been raised—bids will be issued in January or February.
