COMMUNITY NEWS
- ➤ The Blue Mountain Community Foundation is now accepting grant applications from nonprofit groups in Walla Walla, Columbia and Umatilla counties. The foundation offers three programs—Warren Community Action Fund with a March 29 deadline, Dayton/Columbia County Fund with an April 15 deadline and Shindig Grants with an April 28 deadline—to support local projects in health, education and youth activities. - ➤ Three finalists for the next superintendent of Walla Walla Public Schools have been selected, including Ben Gauyan, Patricia Rodriguez, and Mark Wenzel. The public is invited to meet the finalists on March 27. Union-Bulletin

- ➤ Blue Mountain Land Trust will host its Celebrate the Blues fundraiser dinner from 6-9 p.m. on April 19 at Abeja Winery to support conservation work—tickets cost $150 and proceeds will fund trail improvements and environmental education. Union-Bulletin
FINANCE NEWS
- ➤ The Washington Department of Financial Institutions warned today that scammers are using real government documents to create fake investment education foundations that lure investors with promises of 'risk-free' trials and loans. The scam directs users to free trial platforms before asking them to invest real money — caution is urged on offers received via social media, email, or phone. KONA

- ➤ Walla Walla County Superior Court will hold a public meeting on April 10 at 6 p.m. in the County Commissioners training room at 314 W. Main St. to explain a new adult pretrial supervision program—funded by a grant that will expand electronic monitoring and Sentry urinalysis testing. Union-Bulletin
- ➤ Walla Walla police will host a town hall meeting on drugs and gangs at 5 p.m. Thursday, April 3 at the police department on Moore St+ community members must register in advance since space is limited.
