About this event
The Whitman Pre-Law Advising Program and the Department of Economics are delighted to be hosting a student lunch with Nathan Drake, CFO of Pacific Ag.
Nathan graduated with a degree in European history and an interest in math and finance. His first job was in an Organized Crime unit at the Manhattan DA's office; his second was at Goldman Sachs in New York and London. He obtained a law degree from Harvard and an MBA from MIT. Out of graduate school, he worked three years at a large Denver law firm, then transitioned to a Colorado private equity firm. He has spent the last 20 years working in investment groups that make equity investments in private companies, and in the companies that obtain those investments. For the last 5 years he has been CFO of Pacific Ag, the country's largest harvester and marketer of crop residue, a feedstock used in both agriculture and decarbonization. Pacific Ag recently completed a full recapitalization transaction with one of the U.S.'s largest infrastructure funds.
Over lunch, Nathan will distill knowledge gained in a 30-year career into concrete, actionable career advice for students interested in careers in law or finance.
